Giles County — 8-Visit Annual Plan
Lawn Care Plan in SIMS, Pulaski
Middle Tennessee's only UT Certified lawn treatment specialists. 8 visits a year, 4 fungicide rounds included, zero surprise upsells.
Why SIMS
The treatment plan built for your ground
Every Pulaski lawn gets the same 8-visit rhythm — it's what Tennessee's subtropical transition demands. What changes is the inputs: ammonium sulfate vs urea, different herbicide selection, rates matched to your soil test. Same 8 visits. Different lawn. Same beautiful result.
Local Expertise
Why SIMS lawns are unique
SIMS, let's talk about what's really happening with your lawn here in Pulaski, and why the standard approach doesn't hold up.
If you're like most homeowners in SIMS, you've watched your lawn struggle through our Middle Tennessee summers. You see it green up in spring, then by July it's thinning out, turning brown in patches despite watering, and getting overtaken by weeds from bordering fields. The real issue isn't just the heat; it's the night-and-day humidity that settles in for months, creating a perfect storm for diseases like brown patch and dollar spot to silently kill your grass from the roots up. Most services skip the critical, preventative fungicide applications needed from May onward, only offering it as a costly fix after your lawn is already damaged. That cycle of treatment, decline, and reseeding is frustrating and expensive. My approach is built for this exact climate. I’m a treatment-only specialist, which means I focus entirely on the science of turf health, using chemistries that fix multiple problems at once and building a program where each visit compounds on the last. For Pulaski lawns, especially with the sun exposure and larger lots common in SIMS, that non-negotiable foundation is a full, preventative fungicide program, included standard in my single plan. There are no tiers. You get what the grass actually needs: eight visits a year targeting weeds, fertility, insects like grubs and fall armyworm, and disease, all on a flat monthly rate so you never have to guess your bill. What we do in the fall directly affects how your lawn survives next summer. It’s a system built for results, not upcharges, and it’s priced the same whether you’re here in Giles County or in Belle Meade. If something comes up between visits, I come out at no charge, though plan customers rarely need it because we prevent issues before you see them. My goal is to give SIMS residents a simpler, more effective standard of care that ends the annual battle.

What's Actually Included
Comprehensive Coverage — What Your SIMS Plan Actually Includes
Calling this "four services" would undersell it. Your SIMS plan covers every category of threat a Middle Tennessee lawn faces — timed across 8 visits because that's what the transition zone demands.
- Pre-emergent: summer annuals blocked in February/March, winter annuals blocked in September/October
- Post-emergent herbicide matched to what's visible — different chemistry for annuals vs perennials, different rates for different temperatures
- Summer perennials suppressed: Johnson grass, dallisgrass, common bermuda, wild violets, nutsedge
- 4-round fungicide program on 28-day cycle: brown patch, dollar spot, pythium blight, leaf spot
- Insect coverage standard: grubs, armyworms, chinch bugs — no separate upsell
- Slow-release, foliar liquid, and instant-release fertilizer applied at different points in the year — timed to what the lawn needs
- Soil-test-customized inputs — ammonium sulfate where sulfur is low, urea where nitrogen leaches, no phosphorus where it's not needed
Quick Nav
Every SIMS lawn gets the same comprehensive coverage — but with inputs and rates tuned to YOUR soil test. What changes is the chemistry selection, not the level of care.
Your 8-Visit Annual Plan
Your SIMS lawn follows this 8-visit rhythm
Every visit is timed to Middle Tennessee's climate using historical weather data, not a generic calendar.
February – early March
Pre-emergent pass 1 + granular spring fertilizer + winter weed cleanup
You'll see: Pre-emergent pass 1 locks the summer-weed gate. Granular spring fertilizer wakes the fescue without pushing too hard — we save the heavy nitrogen for fall where it matters most. Any leftover winter weeds get cleaned up.
Late March – April
Pre-emergent booster (liquid) + granular fertilizer + post-emergent spot treatment
You'll see: Pre-emergent booster (liquid) backs up the first pass through the critical March 15th emergence window. Granular fertilizer continues the measured spring push. Any early summer annuals that broke through get post-emergent spot treatment.
May
Fungicide round 1 (propiconazole) + summer weed control
You'll see: Propiconazole suppresses brown patch heading into the fungal pressure window AND hits Bermuda, wild violets, and early dallisgrass invasion. Summer annual weed control (crabgrass, goosegrass, nutsedge) rides along.
June
Fungicide round 2 (28-day cycle) + perennial grassy weed suppression
You'll see: The 28-day cycle continues because Middle TN dew keeps turf wet 12 hours a day. Perennial grassy weeds — Johnson grass, dallisgrass, common bermuda — get weakened while they're actively growing in the heat.
July
Fungicide round 3 + foliar liquid fertilizer (iron + peptides) + grub and armyworm watch
You'll see: Peak dew plus heat means peak disease pressure. A foliar-applied liquid fertilizer — chelated iron for color without forcing growth, peptides for stress recovery, a touch of slow-delivery nitrogen. Grub and armyworm activity monitored. Protection is included standard, not an add-on.
August
Fungicide round 4 + foliar liquid fertilizer + seeding quotes issued
You'll see: Last scheduled fungicide round of the summer. Foliar liquid fertilizer (iron + peptides + touch of N) keeps color through the worst stress window. Seeding quotes go out to fall customers. Common Bermuda invasion gets suppression treatment.
September – October
100% slow-release fall fertilizer + seed-safe weed control; seeding visit if signed up
You'll see: 100% slow-release fall fertilizer — this is the visit that sets up next year. Seed-safe pre- and post-emergent weed control. Poa annua control starts here — hit early before it overwinters and sets seed. If you signed up for core aeration + overseeding, that work happens on this visit with gold-tag-certified turf-type tall fescue.
November – December
Instant-release fall fertilizer + winter-annual weed kill
You'll see: Instant-release fall fertilizer — carbohydrates go into the root system before dormancy, not top-growth. Winter annuals (chickweed, henbit, hairy bittercress) eliminated before they set seed. This is the real kill shot on overwintering weeds.
