Williamson County — 8-Visit Annual Plan

Lawn Care Plan in Garden Club, Franklin

Middle Tennessee's only UT Certified lawn treatment specialists. 8 visits a year, 4 fungicide rounds included, zero surprise upsells.

Why Garden Club

The treatment plan built for your ground

Franklin is the wild violet capital of Middle Tennessee — nursery stock from the 90s and earlier left violets riddled through the soil, so your Franklin lawn fights them harder than a Spring Hill lawn does, alongside a heavier nutsedge ratio than towns further south.

Local Expertise

Why Garden Club lawns are unique

For Garden Club residents who have fought this area's persistent weeds, you know your Franklin lawn faces unique battles. My plan is built for those exact problems.

Your Garden Club lawn has a history. The decades of nursery stock and mature landscaping common here have left a legacy of stubborn invaders like wild violets and yellow nutsedge, especially in older irrigated beds. Combine that with the intense shade competition from established trees and you have a lawn under constant stress, making it more susceptible to disease. Most lawn services see that as an opportunity for upselling; they'll treat the basics, wait for brown patch or dollar spot to appear in our humid summers, and then offer you a costly cure. I don't operate that way. My one standard of care for every customer, including everyone in Garden Club, includes preventative fungicide applications as a non-negotiable part of the plan. You shouldn't have to watch your tall fescue die every July and then pay extra to try and save it. The science of lawn care here in Franklin is about compounding results. What we do in the fall, like aeration and seeding, is a direct investment in next summer's drought and heat tolerance. That's why my service plan is built on eight annual visits; it's the minimum required to maintain quality and prevent problems before they become visible, saving you from expensive reactive treatments. My flat monthly rate covers it all, from targeted wild violet control that most companies haven't cracked to managing the nutsedge pressure we see in Franklin. You're paying for a predictable outcome, not surprise invoices. My approach is treatment-only because I focus on the agronomics, using chemistries that solve multiple issues at once to break the cycles common in neighborhoods like yours. This proactive system is why my clients rarely need call-back visits. For a lawn in Garden Club, it’s the only method that makes long-term sense.

What's Actually Included

Comprehensive Coverage — What Your Garden Club Plan Actually Includes

Calling this "four services" would undersell it. Your Garden Club plan covers every category of threat a Middle Tennessee lawn faces — timed across 8 visits because that's what the transition zone demands.

  • Pre-emergent: summer annuals blocked in February/March, winter annuals blocked in September/October
  • Post-emergent herbicide matched to what's visible — different chemistry for annuals vs perennials, different rates for different temperatures
  • Summer perennials suppressed: Johnson grass, dallisgrass, common bermuda, wild violets, nutsedge
  • 4-round fungicide program on 28-day cycle: brown patch, dollar spot, pythium blight, leaf spot
  • Insect coverage standard: grubs, armyworms, chinch bugs — no separate upsell
  • Slow-release, foliar liquid, and instant-release fertilizer applied at different points in the year — timed to what the lawn needs
  • Soil-test-customized inputs — ammonium sulfate where sulfur is low, urea where nitrogen leaches, no phosphorus where it's not needed

Quick Nav

Every Garden Club lawn gets the same comprehensive coverage — but with inputs and rates tuned to YOUR soil test. What changes is the chemistry selection, not the level of care.

Your 8-Visit Annual Plan

Your Garden Club lawn follows this 8-visit rhythm

Every visit is timed to Middle Tennessee's climate using historical weather data, not a generic calendar.

Early SpringVisit 1

February – early March

Pre-emergent pass 1 + granular spring fertilizer + winter weed cleanup

You'll see: Pre-emergent pass 1 locks the summer-weed gate. Granular spring fertilizer wakes the fescue without pushing too hard — we save the heavy nitrogen for fall where it matters most. Any leftover winter weeds get cleaned up.

SpringVisit 2

Late March – April

Pre-emergent booster (liquid) + granular fertilizer + post-emergent spot treatment

You'll see: Pre-emergent booster (liquid) backs up the first pass through the critical March 15th emergence window. Granular fertilizer continues the measured spring push. Any early summer annuals that broke through get post-emergent spot treatment.

SpringVisit 3

May

Fungicide round 1 (propiconazole) + summer weed control

You'll see: Propiconazole suppresses brown patch heading into the fungal pressure window AND hits Bermuda, wild violets, and early dallisgrass invasion. Summer annual weed control (crabgrass, goosegrass, nutsedge) rides along.

SummerVisit 4

June

Fungicide round 2 (28-day cycle) + perennial grassy weed suppression

You'll see: The 28-day cycle continues because Middle TN dew keeps turf wet 12 hours a day. Perennial grassy weeds — Johnson grass, dallisgrass, common bermuda — get weakened while they're actively growing in the heat.

SummerVisit 5

July

Fungicide round 3 + foliar liquid fertilizer (iron + peptides) + grub and armyworm watch

You'll see: Peak dew plus heat means peak disease pressure. A foliar-applied liquid fertilizer — chelated iron for color without forcing growth, peptides for stress recovery, a touch of slow-delivery nitrogen. Grub and armyworm activity monitored. Protection is included standard, not an add-on.

SummerVisit 6

August

Fungicide round 4 + foliar liquid fertilizer + seeding quotes issued

You'll see: Last scheduled fungicide round of the summer. Foliar liquid fertilizer (iron + peptides + touch of N) keeps color through the worst stress window. Seeding quotes go out to fall customers. Common Bermuda invasion gets suppression treatment.

FallVisit 7

September – October

100% slow-release fall fertilizer + seed-safe weed control; seeding visit if signed up

You'll see: 100% slow-release fall fertilizer — this is the visit that sets up next year. Seed-safe pre- and post-emergent weed control. Poa annua control starts here — hit early before it overwinters and sets seed. If you signed up for core aeration + overseeding, that work happens on this visit with gold-tag-certified turf-type tall fescue.

WinterVisit 8

November – December

Instant-release fall fertilizer + winter-annual weed kill

You'll see: Instant-release fall fertilizer — carbohydrates go into the root system before dormancy, not top-growth. Winter annuals (chickweed, henbit, hairy bittercress) eliminated before they set seed. This is the real kill shot on overwintering weeds.
