Our Unique Approach To SeedingServices
The National Turfgrass Evaluation Program provides us with critical data on grass seed varieties that perform exceptionally well in our area. We choose 3 varieties of fescue; one that scores high in shade and heat tolerance, one in drought, heat and foot traffic tolerance and one that scores high in color, disease and drought tolerance. We custom blend these fescues with one cultivar of bluegrass that scores high in heat, drought and color to provide the absolute best seed blend for our area.
1. Reduced water requirements
Each cultivar is chosen for it’s high scores at the NTEP trials for reduced water needs and drought resistance, saving your wallet and the environment.
Biodiversity
By increasing biodiversity, by combining fescue and bluegrass, we can slow the spread of diseases like brown patch, pythium dollar spot and insect damage from chinch bugs and armyworms.
3. Disease Resistance
Growing grass in the high humidity of our area, causes diseases like brown patch and dollar spot to flourish. That’s why it’s important to choose grasses that have a natural resistance to these blights to further reduce our use of fungicides. Our seed has these resistances and when combined with our lawn care program, provides a vigorous green lawn all summer long.
