Kudzu
Pueraria lobata

About Kudzu
This aggressive, fast-growing vine features large, hairy leaves with three broad leaflets and purple flowers in late summer. Commonly found in Middle Tennessee areas like Franklin and Brentwood, kudzu thrives in disturbed soils and open spaces, quickly smothering lawns, trees, and shrubs. Its invasive nature makes it challenging to control, often outcompeting native vegetation and damaging landscapes.
Kudzu (Pueraria lobata) is a turf weed commonly found in lawns throughout Middle Tennessee, including Columbia, Thompson's Station, Spring Hill, and the surrounding areas. This entry is part of our Weed Identification Library.
As lawn care and treatment specialists, we identify and treat Kudzu regularly when servicing properties across the region. Proper identification is the first step toward selecting the right herbicide and timing for effective control.
