Grub & Armyworm Control in The Arbors at Leiper's Fork, Leipers Fork, TN

Grubs and armyworms are the two biggest threats to the expansive lawns found in Leipers Fork. Grubs live underground and eat your grass at the root system. This leaves your turf unable to absorb water or survive the summer heat, which is a major issue in our Middle Tennessee transition zone. Armyworms are even more aggressive. They arrive via migrating moths and can move from your shrub lines to consume an entire lawn overnight. I have seen infestations where the ground actually looks like it is moving because there are so many larvae.

My approach is preventive rather than reactive. I use a novel chemistry that controls both armyworms and grubs simultaneously. Because this is a new mode of action, insects cannot develop resistance to it. Most importantly, the products I use are bee-safe.

You must act before you see physical damage. Once you see the grass dying, the grubs are often too far along in their life cycle for me to use safe, effective chemistry. At that stage, the only option is products like Dylox, which are harsh to breathe in and I refuse to apply. By including this control in my standard plan, I ensure we are protecting your property before the pests can do permanent damage to your landscape.
